FIGURES OF SPEECH:

1)OXYMARON:   Sentence which have both synonyms and antonyms

Eg:

1. So innocent arch, so cunningly simple

2. His honour rooted in dishonour stood

3. Harmonic Cacophony to oblivious cars

2)ONOMATOPOEIA: Sound associated with name, sound of object orlivingthings.

Eg: 1. Cuckoo, sizzle, Tingling, Boom, Burst, Splash.

   2. Cheep-Cheep –sound of birds.

   3. The crow caws, the thunder rumbles.

3)ELLIPSIS:  A series of dots that an intentional omission of words.

Eg: 1. I love u but……….

       2. I hate u but………..

4)ALLITERATION: A sentence with starting letter of word with series of consonants only without vowels.

Eg: 1.Sinews taut yet steady

   2.Through Fedres & Fright I fig my fight

   3. Meet the moon

5)SIMILE: Direct comparison between two objects.

Eg: [like, as, so]

    1. Like brothers a kin

    2. Like a golden swarm of fire flies you came

6)METAPHOR: A metaphor is an implied simile.

Eg:  1. You were the dawn.

        2. Is the star to very wondering bark.

        3. No nightingale did even chaunt.

{All lines in the poem “Be the best” & “Laugh and merry” are metaphor}

7)IRONY(vanjapugalchi ):

            Real meaning is exactly the opposite of that which is literally convey.

Eg:  Brutus is an honourable man.

8)RHYMING WORD: Word end with musical effect.

Eg:  1. Not enjoyed and not sorrow.

        2. Is your destined end on way.

        3. But to act that each tomorrow.

        4. Find us farther than today.

9)RHYMING SCHEME:  It is also similar to rhyming word.

Eg:

1. Not enjoyed and not sorrow------ -A

2. Is your destined end on way-------B

3. But to act that each tomorrow-----A

4. Find us farther than today----------B

 RHYMING SCHEME: ABAB.

10)APOSTROPHE: Talking with non-living things.

Eg: O death ! Where is they sting? O gravel Where the victory.

Exult: O shores.

11)PERSONIFICATION: In animate object & abstract noun are spoken of as having life & intelligence.

Eg:1.The world is happy.

 2. Cloud’s may Kin

      3. The world is gloom & splendor.

12)ANAPHORA: Repetitions of word or set of words in the beginning of the sentence in successive lines.

Eg: 1. If you can dream.

2. If you can think.

13)ALLUSION:  It is a reference from any historical or literary source material.

Eg: Dust thou art, to dut retwinest .

14)REPETITION: Repeats word, phrases, lines or strange.

Eg:1. If I have no rest , nor Joy, nor peace.

      2. For people die & die .
